This module has two functions in one:

It is a wired remote control unit, activated by a low voltage Vdc, coming f.e. from your preamplifier.
It is an inrush current limiter, preventing large inrush currents caused by large toriodal transformers

and high valued (uF) power supply capacitors.

Several parts will have a way longer life due to preventing of these high currents.

Immediatelly a first relay comes up and via a 470R/100W TO247 resistor feeding the large power supply.

This resistor prevents overload of regular on/off switches, rectifiers (charging large elco's), etc.

After about one second the other relay comes in, shortcutting this series resistor.

There is a primary fuse on board. The value can be much lower compared to circuits which have

to cope with inrush currents >3-5 higher than regular. Lower fuse value is much safer !

Especially if you have separate pre- and power amplifier(s) it is nice to use just one on/off switch.
